New Version of Rename & Merge Announced

TrueFit is pleased to announce version 4 (.NET) of our successful Rename & Merge product. Rename & Merge is built as a third-party solution for the Infor VISUAL ERP product line and allows administrators to keep data up to date as business changes require. Rename & Merge can be used to correct master records, reconfigure account structures, change part stock units of measure and more, all while maintaining database integrity.

Scott Maxwell, Senior Software Engineer and Rename & Merge Project Manager, says, "This version has been fully upgraded to Microsoft's .NET platform. We moved to this platform in order to provide scalability and multi database functionality to an already solid product."

Scott continues, "With this new version, we now have the ability to add database connectors to Rename & Merge, allowing the user to perform their tasks on different types of VISUAL databases, such as VISUAL Global Financials."

For more information about Rename & Merge, please contact Kelli Currey or visit Rename & Merge.

TrueFit Strives To Meet Your Organizations Needs

The average worker spends 45 minutes per day looking for information that they know exists somewhere in the many silos of structured and unstructured data that exist. If only there was a standard for how information was stored and shared, people would be more productive, customers would be better served, and the bottom line would be impacted.

  • Part of an integrated business productivity infrastructure, Microsoft enterprise-ready social computing tools make it easy to share information, capture knowledge, and drive innovation across your organization.
  • With Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, people across your organization can gain real-time, comprehensive, and trustworthy business insights by using familiar tools supported by an enterprise-class data platform. Cut costs with a unified infrastructure.
  • Realize the true value of unstructured information. Reduce risk by engaging all your users in a content management life cycle and ensuring that all SharePoint content has policy and process attached.

Collaboration and social computing: Empower people to work in new ways

For organizations looking to innovate, drive business productivity gains, consolidate IT spending, and achieve sustainable competitive advantage through work force agility, the Microsoft collaboration solution offers a comprehensive, flexible platform that empowers people to work together in ways that are most effective for them.

  • Transform your organization into a people-centric business where technology is flexible enough to adapt to individual working styles.
  • Increase productivity with tools that enable your people to connect and collaborate in real time, even when they are on the road or in another office or country.
  • Capture the tacit knowledge from across your organization with user-driven tools. Make that knowledge easily discoverable—even actively deliver it—in formats that your people can best use.

Business Intelligence: Make informed decisions

People across your organization can gain real-time, comprehensive, and trustworthy business insights using familiar tools supported by an enterprise-class data platform.

  • Empower people at every level of your organization to make better, faster, more relevant decisions. Give them the ability to not only monitor what is happening, but also to analyze why it is happening.
  • Enable all tactical, operational, and strategic decisions to be made on real-time, trustworthy, and consistent insight that is in alignment with corporate objectives. Provide a clear view of the bigger picture and a "single version of the truth."
  • Make BI a seamless part of how your people work. Offer data that is accessible from within everyday applications (ERP, CRM, Etc.)—whether people are at their computers, working from a browser, or on their mobile phones.

Enterprise content management: Create user-centric content management

Realize the true value of unstructured information and reduce risk by engaging all your users in the content management life cycle and ensuring that all SharePoint content has policy and process attached.

  • Deliver productivity improvements and increased information value through user participation
  • A familiar, modern, and intuitive user experience across computer, phone, and browser dramatically reduces the complexity of content management, discovery, and reuse
  • Drive compliance, reduce risk, and realize the true value of information
  • Leverage a single platform to store all your organization’s unstructured content
  • Make it easy to consistently apply policy, process, and meta data capture to a broad range of content, including traditional documents, blogs, wikis, and Web content
  • Provide compliance and security while ensuring that the right content is findable and usable by the right people

SharePoint Pearls of Wisdom

TrueFit Consultant, Katie Richardson, had a professor in college who use to throw out what he called "Pearls of Wisdom". Whenever he said those three little words you knew you had to pay attention because whatever was coming next was sure to be on the next exam. Well, isn’t everyday life a test? Here are a few SharePoint Pearls of Wisdom:

SharePoint can be integrated with VISUAL. To see how we’ve brought VISUAL’s Document Maintenance to new light check out our webinar Succeeding with SharePoint

Julie is new to the company. She knows she needs to create an ECN but she doesn’t know where the forms are. Nor does she know who is supposed to get the notification after she completes the form. Good thing her new employer uses SharePoint! With SharePoint, as soon as she clicks on "New" in the ECN library the ECN form is opened, she just needs to complete it and save it. When Julie saves the form a pre-defined workflow process is initiated, all the appropriate individuals are immediately notified. Whew…that sure made Julie’s first week a lot easier, on everyone.

Stay tuned next month when we share what we learned at the SPTechCon (The Sharepoint Technology Conference).

TrueFit Becomes VizSeek Value-Added-Partner

What is VizSeek?

Everyone is familiar with internet search technology such as Google® or Yahoo®. This technology works extremely well for text based document types. Now imagine being able to do the same with shapes. Imagine being able to load in a CAD 3D model of a part and searching the internet for a company who has made a similar part. Imagine getting a list of potential candidates back based on the closest match for size, features, manufacturing processes and material.

You don’t have to imagine any more. VizSeek has developed a patented VISUAL search solution based on proprietary Shape Signature technology combined with a context-based text search capability to connect industrial buyers with suppliers. This technology will revolutionize how industrial buyers find suppliers to support their new and legacy product needs.

What is VizSpace?

Quite simply VizSpace is an online marketplace that enables VizSeek to do its magic. First and foremost it provides the search dialog that allows you to upload a 3D model (or 2D drawing, raster image or even a doodle) to initiate a search. Mainstream search engines never envisioned this technology, so VizSeek needed to build it from the ground up. Fortunately, there was an existing paradigm to work from, business networks such as LinkedIn® or Spoke®.

VizSpace combines the benefits of online networking with the power of marketing and productivity tools to connect industrial buyers and suppliers in public and private marketplaces. With VizSeek’s unique shape search technology as the foundation of its functionality, VizSpace provides the platform to enable companies to find and work with one another in a secure and safe environment.

Principal Consultant for TrueFit, Phil VanSickel, says, "With VizSeek and VizSpace we are offering a new model for the manufacturing industry to do business on the internet. The mix of networking, marketing, and productivity tools in VizSpace provides the type of innovative solution that fits perfectly with our goal of helping businesses work better, faster, and smarter. We’re looking forward to a productive partnership with VizSeek that will ultimately bring significant benefit to our customers."

Nainesh Rathod, CEO of VizSeek, says "We’re looking forward to working with TrueFit’s solid project management, implementation and development teams in deploying VizSpace and creating tools that fit the needs of customers. In any business partnership, you seek companies with a proven track record of successful development and solution implementation. TrueFit certainly has that, and given their combination of dedication, integrity, and innovation, we know that we’ll work well together in bringing new solutions to a wider range of customers."
